When did being an artist become an excuse for racism or xenophobia or any extreme behaviour which if it came  from any other mortal would be pointed out and given a red card? Since the news about Galliano’s slurs I have been reading all these comments about what a great visionary he is, the genius, the talent, the, the, the.  But this is not what’s questioned now. It’s himself as a person and the person he’s proven to be doesn’t differ much from any drunken lad in any local pub. Whether it’s against Jews, Muslims, Indians, Pakistanis etc etc. doesn’t make much difference. The premises are the same.

Wisdom doesn’t necessarily come with knowledge or talent. Actually, rare cases that it does.
